How to render text to the writablebitmap?
Depending on the platform you can create a TextBlock control in code and then call:
var wb = new WriteableBitmap(myTextBlock, null);
I am using .Net Visual Basic and i don't have that constructor method available. Note that i'm developing a WinRT Metro App.
Yes, it's not in WinRT. We're pretty much lost there since the rendering of UIElements is not supported and no workaround in sight until it's implemented by the platform.
There may be a workaround using DirectWrite
